Dorset and Somerset air ambulance
At Hobby Hangar our chosen charity is the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The charity was established in January 2000 it is a REGISTERED CHARITY (No: 1078685) and a Company limited by Guarantee.
The key element of the Air Ambulance is that it can take patients direct to an appropriate specialist hospital that will meet the patients’ clinical needs.
The operational costs of the helicopter are £1.4m a year. The charity receives no funding from the Government or the National Lottery and relies almost entirely on the generosity of people like you to ensure this invaluable service stays active.
The air ambulance has attended literally thousands of life saving missions. On average deploying 3-4 times per day, however during the summer months this can increase up to 8 and they can be anywhere within the two counties in under 19 minutes of receiving an emergency call.
So far at Hobby Hangar we have raised £1703.67 for the charity, and counting!
